{"id":626,"date":"2012-05-09T11:40:39","date_gmt":"2012-05-09T18:40:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.presentaplaque.com\/?p=626"},"modified":"2012-05-09T11:35:22","modified_gmt":"2012-05-09T18:35:22","slug":"congratulations-valley-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.presentaplaque.com\/2012\/05\/09\/congratulations-valley-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations Valley Leadership!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our May winner for \u201cPresenta Plaque to Your Hero\u201d is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.valleyleadership.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Valley Leadership<\/a>!\u00a0 This development organization in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area has been dedicated for the last three decades to engaging, educating and challenging current and emerging leaders to take an active role in strengthening and transforming communities.<\/p>\n<p>We came across a news article in May about their most recent community service project, holding a book drive around the valley and collecting new and gently used books for children five years and younger from public donations. \u201cValley Leadership is providing funds for four reading areas in pediatric waiting rooms\u2026\u201d in both Flagstaff and Navajo Reservation clinics.<\/p>\n<p>There are multiple locations around Arizona designated as drop-off areas, including The Arizona and Scottsdale Republic. It\u2019s also important to note they are looking especially for any books in Spanish and Navajo, as these books are presented by the doctors during well-child visits to promote literacy and early reading.
