The National Education Association (NEA) – American Education Week is coming up November 13-17, 2017. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate public education and recognize those individuals who make a difference in educating children.
A Presenta Plaque is a great way to recognize these teachers and other professionals. Buy a box or two and distribute the plaques to all of the outstanding people who make a difference at a child’s school.
Even though the occasion is only a couple of weeks away, we can get your plaques to you if you order right away. Normal ground shipping takes five days.
Below is the theme for this year’s celebration. Make sure to get enough Presenta Plaques to honor those special people every day of the week.
◦ Monday, November 13, 2017: Kickoff Day
◦ Tuesday, November 14, 2017: Parents Day
◦ Wednesday, November 15, 2017: Education Support Professionals Day
◦ Thursday, November 16, 2017: Educator for a Day
◦ Friday, November 17, 2017: Substitute Educators Day
The first American Education Week was observed on December 4-10, 1921. It came about since it was discovered during World War I, 25-percent of the country’s draftees were illiterate. So, representatives of the NEA and the American Legion met in 1919 to brainstorm ideas to generate public support for education.
In 1921, the NEA in Des Moines, Iowa called for designating one week each year to spotlight public education in all communities. It’s always celebrated the week before Thanksgiving.
What are you waiting for? Order a box of Presenta Plaques today and honor that special educator!
