by Presenta Plaque | on Sep 30, 2018 | No Comments

The Chamber of Commerce in your local city is always a great resource whether you are a startup business or one that’s been in business for years. Networking opportunities, working with various charities, working with the local government even brings about various ways a business or business person can be recognized.

A beautiful plaque can be the perfect item to proudly display on any business owners wall. Chamber of Commerce typically has their own engraved plaques they give to new members for joining, however there are many opportunities to award someone a special plaque throughout the year such as awarding recipients for community involvement, business achievement awards and at galas during the year recognizing top businesses in many categories. By displaying these honors, customers can see some of your accomplishments proudly displayed and it may influence them to use your business more often.

Other plaques are given out for special recognition. If you are the business, recognizing employees for superior work, going above and beyond the call of duty, community service and many other situations that can serve as motivation for others, a beautiful custom plaque is the perfect .

At Presenta Plaque, we offer a variety of kits and plaques that can fit any budget or need. No matter what you’re looking to accomplish, we can find something that works best for your circumstances and what you’re trying to achieve. Visit our gallery of plaques at:

Government Officials Give Presenta Plaques to say Thanks!

by Presenta Plaque | on Mar 31, 2017 | No Comments

Elected officials are recognizing the importance of giving plagues to their constituents. The plague might be as a thank you for volunteer work or for honoring a job well done in the community.

Recently Pennsylvania Senator Mario Scavello showed his appreciation to the many people he serves.  Scavello used a Presenta Plaque to congratulate the Savage Wolves CrossFit on the recent grand opening of their new facility.

At another grand opening, Senator Scavello congratulated the TCC/The Cellular Connection with a Presenta Plaque to send best wishes for success.

In Dumas, Texas, Police Chief Nelson presented Officer Heathington with a Presenta Plaque to recognize her lifesaving efforts for saving the life of a citizen.

A Presenta Plaque was also used by the Champaign, Illinois Police Department to frame the Oath of Office taken by a police officer.

The City of North Miami Beach honored a couple of their employees with a special recognition plaque.

The list goes on and on. Whatever the occasion, a plaque from our company is a great way to show the appreciation an employee or citizen of a community deserves.

11 Tips for a Fabulous Awards Party

by Presenta Plaque | on Jan 11, 2016 | No Comments

Are you having an awards party this season? We have a few tricks up our sleeves to make it the most unforgettable party of the year—try these tips to make it a party your friends will talk about for years to come.

• Make invitations that are black and gold with the same font as the Oscars
• Include the activities that are going to happen at the party in the invitation – especially superlatives
• Ask guests to each bring a bottle of champagne or their favorite sparkling wine, so you can get the night off to a celebratory start, and you can end it that way, too!
• Make a dress code for the event (black tie affair) – let them know there will be a photographer present
• Have a red carpet with someone taking pictures of everyone who arrives — maybe have some cutouts of the nominees to get photos with–make sure to capture a few photos. Ladies are very picky about how they look in photos!
• Have a photo printer available at the end of the red carpet, so everyone can have a picture of themselves with their favorite actor or actress
• Have ballots at the end of the red carpet, so people can vote on superlatives (best dressed, best hair, comedian, etc.)
• Get a photo booth with fun accessories like moustaches, hats, glasses, etc.
• In the restroom, have a basket of a few things that are needed for emergencies like bobby pins, hairspray, deodorant and various other hygiene products.
• Serve Hors D’oeuvres that are A-list approved
• Make a couple of drinks named after your favorite actors or actresses (or movie). Make sure the drink matches the personality of the actor or movie!
• Rent an old time popcorn machine and have black and gold bags made to match the occasion. Load it up with extra butter!
• Serve gold glittery desserts (glitter cupcakes, cake balls, etc.) Yes, there is edible glitter.
• At the end of the night, give out awards made by yours truly, Presenta Plaque, for the superlative winners

If you follow these 11 tips, you are guaranteed to have the party of a lifetime—at least until next year.

10 Ways to Reduce Stress before a Presentation

by Presenta Plaque | on Jul 27, 2015 | No Comments

Ah the dreaded presentation. Most of us have been there. Whether it’s been in school or at work, a lot of us know the feeling of anxiety that comes in the hours that precede a big presentation or speech. It seems as though no matter how many times we present, the hours leading up to it can be nerve-racking and uncomfortable.

But like many other instances in life, the key is preparation. So how does one get to the point where presenting becomes as easygoing as anything else?

1. Check your energy: Start off the day with some exercise. Remember a lot of the anxiety you may feel before a presentation is due to adrenaline and there’s nothing like exercise to give you the calming effect you need before your turn to present.

2. Tell a friend about it: Reciting your presentation in front of a friend can be a great way to ensure you can explain it to someone other than just yourself.

3. Practice deep breathing: Never underestimate the calming power of a deep breath. Close your eyes and practice slow, deep breaths. There’s a reason the yogis do it!

4. Eat your breakfast: The last thing you want to worry about when you’re in front of everyone is how much grumbling your stomach is doing. You want to avoid and upset stomach at all costs and the best thing to do so is to eat well-balanced meals the day of.

5. Stretch: According to research, stretching releases dopamine, the neurotransmitter responsible for the brain’s reward and pleasure centers. Nothing like a good yawn and stretch to ease the nerves!

6.  Hang with your pet: Pets can significantly reduce the amount of stress in our daily lives. Plus they’ll be home and ready to cuddle no matter what the outcome of your presentation is.

7. Laugh: They say laughter is the best medicine and they aren’t wrong. Crack some jokes with friends or watch some funny videos. It’s almost guaranteed to lift some of the stress.

8. Get to know your subject: No, it doesn’t mean memorize sentences to recite. Really get to know the material you’re speaking about inside and out.

9. Bring out the Mozart: Or Beethoven, whatever you prefer. Research has shown that classical music is an excellent way to calm nerves and reduce anxiety before stressful events.

10. Remember it will soon be over: A lot of the stress that comes with big presentations and speeches stems from the inability to see past the next hour or so. Once you’ve prepared as much as possible, all you can do is try your very best and look forward to it being over!

Keep Your Kids Motivated!

by Presenta Plaque | on Apr 12, 2012 | No Comments

“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.” – Walt Disney

For those of us with children, bedtime stories were most likely a ritual. In fact, “Goodnight Moon” and “I Love you Forever” were a few of the popular books in our library. Early reading experiences can influence learning, so how do you keep young children interested and motivated?

An effective way to encourage children to love books and reading is to read aloud to them; the earlier you start, the better. Even a baby of a few months can see pictures, listen to your voice, and turn pages!  Child development expert Marilyn Jager Adams said, “reading aloud with children is known to be the single most important activity for building the knowledge and skills they will eventually require for learning to read.” Here is a list of a few great ways to motivate your children to read:

  1. Let your child pick the book when it’s story time.
  2. When he or she gets tired of the book, let them pick another story.
  3. Integrate your child’s name into the book; make them feel “involved” with the story.
  4. Visit the library and let them check out new books.
  5. Create a fun and comfortable reading space for them.

Here is a bonus tip for teachers in early education – give your kids reading certificates! If your students reach a goal, why not reward them? Make the certificates that much more special by putting them into a plaque! Our plaque kits are easy to assemble and affordable! Stock up on plaques today!

Do you have any other tips for keeping young children motivated about books? What are your kids’ favorite books? We’d love to hear them, so find us on Facebook and share them on our wall!

Appreciate Teachers

by Presenta Plaque | on Jan 17, 2012 | No Comments

Did you know January is National Mentoring Month?  Teachers make incredible mentors; they educate and guide our children to be smart, successful adults. As a principal or district supervisor, how do you show your teachers you appreciate them? Teachers can make a huge difference, but may not always see the impact of their work on kids and families; Presenta Plaque wants to change that and help recognize their incredible work.

Sure, there are many ways you can show appreciation; gift baskets and gift certificates are wonderful ideas. However, they don’t last, and they certainly cannot be showcased on your wall. Imagine the look on your teacher’s face when you hand them a plaque and certificate titled “Terrific Teacher”. Chances are they’re already clearing space to hang it up on their wall! From October 2011 through March 2012, one lucky teacher will be awarded the Silver Apple each month. It’s a great award and nominations are open (click here), but we feel every teacher should receive recognition.

Our plaques and plaque kits are inexpensive and budget friendly. It’s time to let all your teachers know how special they are by stocking up on plaques to show your appreciation today! Order online!

Affordable Plaques for Everyone

by PresentaPlaque Admin | on Sep 07, 2011 | 2 Comments

Got a call from an old friend today, we’ll call him Ed. Quite a bit of time has passed from our Air Force days, but he remembered I was in the Plaque business. As the president of his local Rotary Club, he wanted to start a recognition program. The program would involve the club recognizing local students in the areas of leadership and academic achievement. He wanted to print his own certificates, but didn’t want to look cheap by handing a hard working student a piece of paper. Smart guy.

Ed obviously had spent some time on our website, because he was very familiar with our products. He said “I’d like to save some money and I have the time, so I’m interested in your do-it-yourself plaque kits, we call them “Original Presenta Plaques Kits”. Ed’s always been a handy guy, so I know he could assemble our kits with his eyes closed. (if he ever had any questions he could always watch our you tube video on how to assemble Presenta Plaque kits)

Ed didn’t need individual boxes for the finished plaques so he ordered our bulk kits; in other words don’t pay for the boxes if you don’t need them. He chose our most popular color, walnut; in our most popular size that holds an 8 ½ by 11 inch certificate. He even had the part number, PWB811.

The Rotary Club awards will be given out monthly, so a case of 13 will last him a year. Ed and his Rotary Club are very much our typical customer who calls us once a year when their box of plaques are running low.  He knows that if he ever doesn’t have the time to assemble kits, or is giving out a large quantity of awards that he has the option of ordering our Pocket Plaques, with pre-assembled “slip in” convenience. Remember that the Pocket Plaques all come with an individual box to protect them during shipping.

So whether its Rotary Club Awards, Knights of Columbus Awards or Moose Club Awards, Presenta Plaque can provide you with an affordable do-it-yourself professional recognition tool.

Contact us today at 800-824-2390 to turn your paper certificate into a distinctive, and commemorative plaque.

Recognition Basics

by PresentaPlaque Admin | on Aug 02, 2011 | 1 Comments

Several years ago I attended a professional basketball game. At half time one of the charitable organizations that the team sponsors was presenting an award to several students. Here’s the scene, in the middle of the court a multimillion dollar professional basketball player hands an award to the student and says congratulations. My impression was that the team and the player looked very cheap and insincere because the award they were presenting was a plain paper certificate. A piece of paper!

Enter Presenta Plaque, where simply placing the paper certificate in our inexpensive plaque kits will immediately increase the value of your award. A certificate presented in our plaque will find itself proudly hung or displayed for all to see. As an award presenter, isn’t that your goal after all?

The recognition process is two-part; to acknowledge the deeds of the recipient and to promote the presenting organization. You’re taking the time and effort to recognize individuals and their achievements so why not do it right. There’s a message that’s sent when your certificate gets stuck on a wall with a push pin or thrown in a drawer because it’s too expensive to frame it. It looks cheap and so do you. Not what you want.

When a certificate is received in a Presenta Plaque you’re immediately impressed with the quality of the plaque and the effort that the presenter went through.

Recipient feels important, you don’t look cheap and the award is proudly displayed. Who’s going to know that you spent less than ten dollars on the award?
