Remember that Special Someone with a Presenta Plaque on Veterans Day!

by Adam Solender | on Sep 19, 2017 | No Comments

Veterans Day is right around the corner, Saturday, November 11, 2017. It’s not too late, though, to order a box or two of Presenta Plaques to honor your heroes.

Our company works with large federal agencies such as the White House,  Department of Defense and the U.S. Secret Service. So, if you work in a government agency or a branch of the military, we can certainly help you with your needs in supplying plaques for those you wish to honor.

If you’re a business owner, a Presenta Plaque is a great way to show veterans at your company how much you appreciate their service. Why not have a short ceremony for the whole staff where you can present a plaque to a veteran?

Imagine the expression on your employees’ faces when everyone gathers around to see them accept a plaque for their service! Our plaques are relatively inexpensive but the impact they have comes out to a much greater value.

Presenta Plaque does not do engraving but rather sells plaques where you can slip a certificate into.

If you’re wondering what wording to include on a military plaque, you obviously want to start with the name of the individual including the rank and call sign (if applicable). Be extra careful to make sure capitalization, abbreviation and spelling is correct.

Next, include the organization name such as the department, squadron, battalion or team. If you’re giving the plaque during a recognition ceremony, then go ahead and put the date you’re giving it to the military member. Or you can write the dates of service. If you know of a significant contribution the service member made you can include that, too.

You can also include a slogan from the branch of the military the person served in and include a complimentary quote of appreciation.

We’re a veteran-owned business so we’re glad to help you with any of your needs!

How to Properly Hang a Presenta Plaque

by Adam Solender | on Aug 25, 2017 | No Comments

Presenta Plaques are great for so many occasions. They’re great to give out to show your special appreciation to employees or volunteers. But they’re also nice to have to display your accomplishments such as awards or degrees and any special recognitions or honors your business or non-profit organization has received.

Hanging a Presenta Plaque is quite easy. But if you’ve never hung one before, you might be wondering how to do it.

A plaque can be hung on the wall just like a picture, family portrait or other art work. First, you obviously need to find the perfect spot for the plaque to hang. You want it to be at eye level so it’ll be easy for everyone to see.

Next, you’ll want to find a stud. You can do this by softly tapping on the wall until you hear a solid sound. Mark the location with a pencil.

Hammer the nail or J-hook into the stud. If it’s a nail, don’t leave more than a 1/2 inch showing. Hang the plaque and adjust it until it looks level. It’s always good to stand a few feet back.

The beautiful wood finishing on Presenta Plaques looks good with just about any decor in an office or home. Our plaques accent any color well and look even better when several are hung together on a wall.

If you don’t already have a box, order now so you’ll always have one on hand.

What to Write on a Certificate Inside a Presenta Plaque

by Adam Solender | on Aug 11, 2017 | No Comments

Whether you’re a business owner, non-profit, or a government agency, no doubt you’re needing at least a box of Presenta Plaques to keep on hand.

Even though you have the recipients picked out for the plaque, you might not be sure of the right words to use. Basically, there are no firm rules on how to word an award certificate, but there are some helpful guidelines to make it look more professional.

On most certificates, there are seven wording sections. As long as you put the title and name of the recipient, you can pretty much do what you want on the rest. For example, “Certificate of Appreciation” followed by the recipient’s name.

In between the title and name, you can always put the presentation line. i.e. Certificate of Appreciation is awarded to John Smith. Then you have the option of putting who the certificate is from whether it’s your name or your business. “….is awarded to John Smith by Mrs. Jones or by the Smith Company.”

If you wish, you can write a short paragraph about why the person is receiving the award. You can also add the date and a signature. Signatures make the certificate look more legitimate. Usually, a single signature line is either aligned to the right or centered. A graphic or a seal can also be placed in the lower right or left-hand corner.

So many options are available. If you haven’t already, order your box of Presenta Plaques now so you’ll be sure to have them for that special occasion.

Holiday Crafts Worth Framing in a Plaque

by Presenta Plaque | on Dec 12, 2016 | No Comments

Tis the season for giving gifts, so why not make some of those gifts not only memorable but something that can be enjoyed for years to come.  Making it a gift that can double as a holiday décor from here on out.  Here are some ideas to consider.

The kiddos are either already home for winter break or are getting ready to be on winter break.  A lot of them are looking for things to do, so why not give them a few projects that will not only occupy their mind some, but keep them out of trouble as well.

Holiday cards are a fun and easy project for most little ones to get involved with.  Children of any age can spend hours creating these treats to either give away or perhaps they can create an image that represents the holidays to them.  This is a fantastic opportunity for children to explore their creative side and imagination.

If your child isn’t particularly artistic maybe stickers are the way to go for them.  Go with them to the craft store and let them pick out stickers that speak to them in some manner.  Stickers of their favorite characters are available and there are also stickers that represent different aspects of the holidays.  Let them take these stickers and tell a story on paper.  They can finish off the image by coloring around it and adding to the overall look.  Once again this image can be used as the front of a card to either a parent or grandparent or it can just be a holiday image they want to create for fun.

Perhaps your child is a little more artistic.  Drawing a picture can be fun and entertaining for them.  They can color those images and add glitter to them and really make it sparkle and shine.  There are crayons and markers available that can easily be cleaned up and corrected in case the project gets a little out of hand.  By sitting your child down with these tools you are inviting them to not only have hours of fun but to keep their minds stimulated as well.

This is also the time of year where you may take a lot of photos.  Why not make them into a collage that you can display for years to come.  Those same stickers you were using earlier make a GREAT way to attach the photos to a larger piece of paper for display purposes.  By writing the year on the collage you can look back for years to come and see and remember those special times.

Once these projects are complete you’re going to want to display them.  Presenta Plaque has  perfect ways to not only display them but preserve them as well.  Our plaque kits are stylish and easy to put together.  Just imagine being able to slip these projects right in and they are ready to show off in not only your home but your office as well.  The plaque kits come in a variety of styles and colors which make them pretty to look at.  You can store them away with your other holiday décor and proudly display them every year.

So the next time your child says they are bored.  Share these ideas with them and grab one of our plaque kits and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Plaques to Honor Our Military Men and Women

by Presenta Plaque | on Nov 16, 2016 | No Comments

This month we celebrated Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving.  One celebrated the lives of those who fought so hard to preserve our freedom and rights.  The other is to celebrate all that you are thankful for in your life.  During these times there is a simple project that you can do to honor anyone you choose to.

For example, let’s take the mayor of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.  He wanted to do whatever he could to pay tribute to some of the men and women who fought for this country.  Specifically those who are housed in a assisted living center in his town.  Yes, he could have easily made a donation or just supplied them a meal, but the mayor decided to take it a step further.  For each of those military members he found out something special about them.   He wrote is up with a photograph attached and presented their special story inside a plaque.  Each of these men and women were presented their plaque at a special ceremony that took place in that assisted living center.  Some of them contained a newspaper article that was written about them.  Others got a collage of photos with the special story put together.  Regardless of what they received these men and women were grateful.   It proved to them that there are people who care for them and it gave them a memento to remind them of the day and the events involved.

This simple gesture is something that you can do yourself.  Nearly every community has an assisted living center or retirement village.  Go in there and learn about your neighbors.  Sit with them, hear their stories and be inspired by them.  Take the time to let them share photos with you.  From there sit down and write down what you learned.  Add photos to whatever you write about them.  Presenta Plaque has the perfect way to get that gift back to them.  Our plaque kits are not only pretty to look at but they are easy to assemble.  Once it is put together go back and present it to them.  It doesn’t have to be in a ceremony like the mayor of Chippewa Falls did, it can be through a personal interaction, just to show these people you care.

This doesn’t have to just be a Veteran’s Day project.  Take Thanksgiving for example.  A lot of people are hosting family and friends in their home.  Why not make a plaque that will not only serve as a place setting, but as a token of appreciation as well.  Perhaps you are hosting your parents, grandparents, nieces and nephews or even some friends.  In a day where social media is prominent there is plenty of access for people to get their hands on pictures and memories of these individuals.  Put together a collage of memories.  Add their name to the top and place it once again in one of our kits.  Place these plaques where they will be seated.  They will act as not only a place card, but they can help stimulate dinner conversation.  People will want to share their plaque and tell stories about the memories.  At the end of the evening they can take them home and it is a memento of the evening.  A sweet parting gift that was easy to make.

These plaques can be quite simple to put together and our kits are the perfect way to do it.  Check out our website for plaque options and order yours today!

Preserve Arts and Crafts in a Plaque

by Presenta Plaque | on Oct 23, 2016 | No Comments

Fall is the perfect time of year to craft with your children or on your own.  Colors are vibrant, holidays are approaching and there are plenty of opportunities for people to put nicely crafted projects together and preserve in a plaque.

Halloween is the first Fall holiday you get into.  During that time your little goblins and ghouls may dress up so picture perfectly that you may want to capture that image.  Just about every individual is armed with a high-quality camera in the form of their smart phone.  Along with filters and apps that are available you can make those precious moments look picture perfect.  Why keep those photos to yourself.  Don’t just share them on social media but display them proudly.  Why not develop and blow up the photos?  You can place them on traditional paper, canvas or even silk screened on material.  Once that is complete, you should display it.  Why not use one of our simply to put together Presenta Plaque kits.  They come put together and make it easy to display your item for all to see.  Since they come in sophisticated colors it will match most people’s décor either in their home or office.

This is all the time for family craft projects.  Encourage your children to create cards for their friends and family.  Store bought cards are nice, but they take a lot of the personalization out of things.  Sit down as a family and create an image together.  Maybe it’s a skeleton of sorts, perhaps it is a haunted house that has creatures around it, whatever that image is it will be yours to give out and use.  Save one of those images and once again use a plaque from us to display it.

If you are not the creative type but have received cards from others a Halloween collage could be a lot of fun.   Get some cardstock and take either the whole image or portions of the different cards and glue them to the cardstock.  You can perhaps take a photograph of a Fall scene and cut out the other images to place on that scene which is serving as a backdrop.  By framing and displaying it enables you to remember who gave you cards on the occasion and it may serve as a decoration for future years to come.  Every time you look at the framed art you will immediately be transported back into that time period and remember the events all over again.

Let’s not forget where the concept of “fall” comes from.  Once our foliage begins changing color from the temperature, those leaves then begin to fall.  Those leaves are so vibrant and colorful they are perfect to preserve.  Take a couple of the more vibrant leaves and once again place them on cardstock.  Put them in interesting patterns and designs on the paper.  Buy the liquid that you use when you are planning to decoupage and gently brush it on the leaves that you have laid out.  Once the liquid dries the leaves will remain in place and have a prettier look and texture to them.  Place them inside one of our plaque kits and put them on display.  A series of these types of frames is an easy decoration to put on display in your home or office to represent the season.

Our plaques are versatile and functional and beautiful.  They can be enjoyed for a variety of reasons and are so easy to put together that you will have no problem coming up for a use for them.  Check out our website for styles and ordering information.

Show Kids You Care with a Plaque

by Presenta Plaque | on Aug 17, 2016 | No Comments

School is back in session which means in some cases your child has work to do at their job, school, and at home after.  Just because the school year has started it doesn’t mean that household chores get put on hold.  On the contrary, that just means your child may be getting pulled in different directions.

Children need motivation when it comes to keeping up with both schoolwork and housework.  No one wants to do something where they are not recognized for their efforts.  Why not as parents start a recognition program that will help motivate them both at home and at school.

Certificates are an easy way to acknowledge good work and show you care what your child does.  Certificates can be printed off online for just about any topic and subject possible.  They are an easy way to not only recognize a job well done, but that simple bit of encouragement will be a motivation for your child to continue their good work.

There are a lot of topics where parents can print out certificates to recognize their child.  Starting with the work they are responsible for around the house.  No one likes chores, but they especially do not like them when no one recognizes their efforts for doing them.  Why not keep your child motivated by showing them you see what they contribute around the house.

There are some parents that say, ‘why should I recognize my child for doing what is expected of them,’ the answer is simple, because it is a nice pick-me-up.  When you are at work, you do what is expected of you, but you still enjoy when the boss or someone tells you when you did a job well done.  The feeling is no different when it comes to your child.  Maybe your children have a hard time getting along with one another, maybe they don’t enjoy picking up their things in their room or making a bed or helping with dinner.  Perhaps a certificate or reward system will be just the motivation they need.  Maybe your child made their bed without being reminded.  Perhaps they handled a disagreement with a sibling in a civilized manner or maybe they offered to help with dinner before being asked.  All of these things deserve some sort of recognition.  A certificate or plaque may be the thing that motivates them to keep helping out on their own.

School is another area where you can celebrate your child’s accomplishments.  Not every student is good at every subject.  Some students struggle with subjects like English and Math.  Why not recognize when they do well in these challenging subjects.  A high score on an assignment, quiz or test is a big deal for a child who has to work twice as hard for those good grades.  You can print off something that tells them about a job well done.  Maybe a perfect attendance recognition is in order.  Maybe your child isn’t particularly athletic but did well in gym class.  Whatever it is it takes no effort to put it down on paper.

Once you get those awards together, place them on one of our plaque kits.  They make displaying the award simple and fun.  What kid doesn’t enjoy their friends walking in and seeing an award given to them on display.  The kits are simple to use and hang with ease.

Psychologists say these recognitions are vital to your child’s development.  They help them develop a stronger sense of self-esteem.  That boost in confidence is enough to keep them motivated to keep up the good work.

Call us today and we can get you started with one of these kits.  You will be surprised on how easy they are to put together.  More importantly you will be excited to see the end result on your wall and what it does for your child’s self-esteem.

Are you having an awards party this season? We have a few tricks up our sleeves to make it the most unforgettable party of the year—try these tips to make it a party your friends will talk about for years to come.

• Make invitations that are black and gold with the same font as the Oscars
• Include the activities that are going to happen at the party in the invitation – especially superlatives
• Ask guests to each bring a bottle of champagne or their favorite sparkling wine, so you can get the night off to a celebratory start, and you can end it that way, too!
• Make a dress code for the event (black tie affair) – let them know there will be a photographer present
• Have a red carpet with someone taking pictures of everyone who arrives — maybe have some cutouts of the nominees to get photos with–make sure to capture a few photos. Ladies are very picky about how they look in photos!
• Have a photo printer available at the end of the red carpet, so everyone can have a picture of themselves with their favorite actor or actress
• Have ballots at the end of the red carpet, so people can vote on superlatives (best dressed, best hair, comedian, etc.)
• Get a photo booth with fun accessories like moustaches, hats, glasses, etc.
• In the restroom, have a basket of a few things that are needed for emergencies like bobby pins, hairspray, deodorant and various other hygiene products.
• Serve Hors D’oeuvres that are A-list approved
• Make a couple of drinks named after your favorite actors or actresses (or movie). Make sure the drink matches the personality of the actor or movie!
• Rent an old time popcorn machine and have black and gold bags made to match the occasion. Load it up with extra butter!
• Serve gold glittery desserts (glitter cupcakes, cake balls, etc.) Yes, there is edible glitter.
• At the end of the night, give out awards made by yours truly, Presenta Plaque, for the superlative winners

If you follow these 11 tips, you are guaranteed to have the party of a lifetime—at least until next year.
