Fall is the perfect time of year to craft with your children or on your own.  Colors are vibrant, holidays are approaching and there are plenty of opportunities for people to put nicely crafted projects together and preserve in a plaque.

This is all the time for family craft projects.  Encourage your children to create cards for their friends and family.  Store bought cards are nice, but they take a lot of the personalization out of things.  Sit down as a family and create an image together.  Maybe it’s a skeleton of sorts, perhaps it is a haunted house that has creatures around it, whatever that image is it will be yours to give out and use.  Save one of those images and once again use a plaque from us to display it.

If you are not the creative type but have received cards from others a Halloween collage could be a lot of fun.   Get some cardstock and take either the whole image or portions of the different cards and glue them to the cardstock.  You can perhaps take a photograph of a Fall scene and cut out the other images to place on that scene which is serving as a backdrop.  By framing and displaying it enables you to remember who gave you cards on the occasion and it may serve as a decoration for future years to come.  Every time you look at the framed art you will immediately be transported back into that time period and remember the events all over again.

Let’s not forget where the concept of “fall” comes from.  Once our foliage begins changing color from the temperature, those leaves then begin to fall.  Those leaves are so vibrant and colorful they are perfect to preserve.  Take a couple of the more vibrant leaves and once again place them on cardstock.  Put them in interesting patterns and designs on the paper.  Buy the liquid that you use when you are planning to decoupage and gently brush it on the leaves that you have laid out.  Once the liquid dries the leaves will remain in place and have a prettier look and texture to them.  Place them inside one of our plaque kits and put them on display.  A series of these types of frames is an easy decoration to put on display in your home or office to represent the season.
